I never knew something could break my heart like the sex trafficking of girls. Seeing it in person has completely altered the way I look at the world.

Sadly, if you keep reading, you will discover that our adoption journey doesn’t end on a happily. In fact, it has been very painful to write about it. However, if our story encourages others toward greater understanding of the trafficking crisis or even action it would mean the world to me.

Thanks for your thoughts.

My draw to it came from being an international studies student (before my call to youth ministry) and studying 3rd world countries. What particularly moved me was watching the story of children born to prostitutes in India in the documentary “Born into Brothels.” I had the same thought of what a “new life” I could offer to a girl who would otherwise be forced into prostitution at 11 or a young boy who would end up as an addict/pimp. We’re not yet at a point where we could do something like that, but we’re always paying attention for the prodding of the Holy Spirit. I connected to this blog entry immensely and praise God to hear about others who have felt similarly. Thank you. I read your most recent entry and look forward to the rest.
